During the Husky-Experience we will visit a Husky-farm and leave from there for a sensational trip on a dog sledge pulled by an enthusiastic bunch of Husky’s around one of the beautiful lakes nearby. If snow-conditions do not allow a sledge-ride, you will take a few of the Husky’s for a firm work out-walk, where the close and direct contact with the dogs is a unique experience!

 

For the Winter-hike you will be picked up by the guide in a Landrover and take of into the wilderness. Once at your destination you will start your walk through a breathtaking landscape in which you will often need your snow-shoes. Lunch will take place around an open-fire and during the trip the guide will tell you everything you want to know and more about the natural surroundings.

A great trip in a winter wonderland!

 

Ice-fishing is a unique experience; on the middle of a big lake in a quiet winter landscape, an open-fire, hole in the ice, special fishing-rod and nothing but silence.

A slowly darkening Swedish winter-afternoon and with a bit of luck cooking your catch over the open-fire that provides us with a little warmth. Enjoying the scenery and drinking some warm Glögg; what a life!

If circumstances will allow, we will create an ice-skating track of about 5 km on the nearby Harasjön, on which you can feel what it is to romp with the elements and make a skating tour on genuine open-air ice. (At Hedegårds we have a small number of Swedish skates one can rent. If you are interested and send us your size beforehand, we can inform you about the availability).

 

Hedegårds is situated on a 9 ha. estate with lots of birches and pines. This requires a lot of maintenance. Therefore we organize a ‘Skogsdag’ once every week. If you like you can help out and be a real ‘forester’; with a (chain) saw and axe we will have a great outdoor-day at Hedegårds. In between there is lots of time to sit around the open fire in our Tipi-tent, have a self cooked meal and talk about the adventures until than and the ones still to come.

Relaxation and a healthy work-out at the same time; the ideal combination!

If you don’t feel like it (anymore).... in the restaurant the fire place is burning.

 

Every activity includes a light lunch and if we have the time we make an open-fire and grill some sausages.

 

And of course you can book several other winter activities such as a fabulous trip in a Landrover through the beautiful surroundings, snowscooter-trip or a day alpine- or ceoss-country skiing.

From Hedegårds you can go and ski for a day at one of the bigger ski-areas such as Branäs and Hovfjället near Torsby, if you want in combinations with some skiing-lessons

In the surroundings of Hedegårds you will find a number of cross-country skiing trails that will take you through beautiful forests and along silent frozen lakes. Equipment is for rent.
