During your holiday-week you wil make 4 'walkabouts'
in the surroundings of Hedegårds.
All tours come with an expanded guidebook and will take you through some typical places in this beautiful area. They take you past lakes and rivers, a waterfall and of course through the woods where Värmland is famous for.
The tours are suitable for children over the age of about 9 years.
Moose- and Beaversafari
Our Moose-safari takes place at the beginning of the evening. This time is the best for meeting one of the ‘Kings of the Swedish forests’
We take you to the favorite places of these huge animals and during that trip tell you some worth-knowing facts
During our Beaversafaries, after a drive through Värmlands nature, we try to get as close as possible to the terrain of the very shy Beaver. In summer by means of a canoe in winter on foot.
From here we can see their magnificent dams and castles.
During our tour we tell you things worth knowing about these very clever animal.
We start our Beaver-tours at the beginning of the evening.

Where, so close to home, can you find the possibility for a real Canoe-Adventure?
From Ekshärad you can even choose different destinations.
Leave from Hedegårds for a spectacular trip over several beautiful lakes in the Ekshärad surroundings or let us bring you to one of the starting points along the river Klarälven from which you can enjoy the phenomenal landscape along its banks.
Thick forests altered by a variety of the typical Swedish houses and farms
Meet Beaver, Deer, Fox and Elk and if you get lucky maybe even a Bear, Wolf or Lynx that still live here in the wild

We call it 'a vacation-day for the parents'.
Every summer-season we organize our KidsAdventureDays
From 11 o'clock in the morning till 4 o'clock in the afternoon we will take them into the wilderness in our Landrovers. There is a wilderniss-quiz with questions about the plants and animals that live in the surrounding forrests, we will cook our own wilderness-meal above a self-made wood-fire and discover a real canyon inbetween the rocks. We learn how to find our way with a compass and lots more!
Under the safe guidance of two experienced English speaking guides the kids take of on an expedition in the wilderness of Värmland.
Included are transportation to the locations, wilderness meal, drinks, snacks and all the needed gear.
At the end of the day the kids will have their own 'Wilderness diploma'
What your children should bring themselves are:
water-resistant clothing, a towel and some extra clothes, (because living in the wilderness can get you wet and dirty!), firm shoes and perhaps a small backpack.
predatorcentre 'The Big Four'
On approx. 20 km from Hedegårds you can find the predatorcentre 'The Big Four of Scandinavia'
Here you can find all the information about the 4 predators of Sweden; Wolf, Bear, Lynx and Wolverine
An exhibition of stuffed animals, information movies and billboards, together with an English spoken tape will take you through the world of these animals.
And of course lots of information about other animals such as the famous Moose!
A very nice museum, more than worth a visit!
